School psychologists

Question: Why are you spending so much money on a school psychiatrist and cutting teachers?

Answer: New York State mandates that all public schools employ a school psychologist (as opposed to a psychiatrist). Broadalbin-Perth employs two full-time school psychologists to serve our approximately 2,000 students. B-P's ratio of 1,000 students per school psychologist is much higher than in most other public schools in the Capital Region.
